Additional Information

The Pinwheel: A Symbol of Hope for Every Child

Since 2008, the blue pinwheel has served as the national symbol for child abuse prevention, first introduced by Prevent Child Abuse America®. More than just a visual emblem, the pinwheel represents the joy, innocence, and limitless potential of childhood. Its bright, hopeful motion reminds us that every child deserves to grow up in an environment filled with safety, stability, and love.

Each pinwheel stands as a call to action for families, caregivers, educators, and communities to play an active role in protecting and supporting children. By creating safe spaces, offering encouragement, and remaining attentive to the needs of children and families, we help build stronger foundations for the future. Together, we can keep the pinwheel turning toward a brighter tomorrow — one where every child has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and flourish.
